MT. VERNON- Sarah Agnes "Sally" (Hunt) Thompson, 68, a resident of the Ohio Eastern Star Health Care Center, died Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at the care center.
She was born Aug. 23, 1942 in Mt. Vernon to the late William Jack and Mary Agnes (Blubaugh) Hunt. She married Jack Thompson, who preceded her in death on Dec. 11, 2003. She was a 1960 graduate of Howard High School, and retired from Mel's Florist in Bexley. She enjoyed reading, going out to eat and to the movies, animals, and traveling with her husband Jack, especially to historic sites and old civil war battlefields.
She is survived by a sister, Patricia (Mik) Dudevszky of Mt. Vernon, two brothers; John (Candy) Hunt of Howard, and Charles (Sharon) Hunt of Bladensburg, a step-brother, Thomas (Karen) Baker of Columbus, a step-sister, Connie (Carl) Biggs of Fredericktown, several nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Jeanne Coakley of Columbus.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William Jack Hunt and Mary Agnes Hunt Baker, and her step-father, Doyal Baker.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011 at the St. Luke Catholic Church in Danville with Father F. Richard Snoke officiating. Burial of cremains will follow at St. Luke Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to service time at the church. The Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is handling arrangements.
