Danville - Shelba Jean Smith, 74, died Saturday September 22, 2012 at her residence.
She was born November 10, 1937 in Sparta to Verner B. and Sarah M. (Bird) Harrod. She married Cosmas B. Smith on February 28, 1962. She was a member of the St. Luke Catholic Church in Danville.
She is survived by her husband, Cosmas, a brother, Verner (Ruth) Harrod, Jr. of Mansfield, 3 sons, W. Morgan (Tammy) Givens of Howard, Jimmy (Terri) Smith of Kingman, AZ, and David Smith of Danville, 4 daughters, Sara Sapp of Dacula, GA, Rose (Jim) Pitsenberger of Howard, Pearl (Bob)Purdum of Mt. Liberty, and Melissa Smith of Blacklick, 3 grandsons, Jason Sapp, Frankie Espinosa, and Thor Pitsenberger, 9 granddaughters, Jill Lambes, JoAnne Sapp, Tracy Givens, Robyn Sapp, Stacy Rocha, Ashley Espinosa, Breana Pitsenberger, Amber Pitsenberger, and Heidi Purdum, and 17 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday September 26, 2012 at the St. Luke church. Father Victor Wesolowski will be officiating. Burial will follow in St. Luke Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 5-8 p.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville on Tuesday, with a prayer service at 7:45.
