Heath - Shirley A. (Workman) Brownell, 78, formerly of Danville, went to Heaven on Sunday November 13, 2011.
She was born October 15, 1933 in Dayton to Floyd T. and Doris (Rodehaver) Workman. She was married February 22, 1953 to Arthur E. Brownell. Shirley had an extraordinary voice and loved to sing. She performed many solos and duets, and participated in many choir groups throughout the years singing in Ohio and New York. She was a member of the Danville Church of Christ, and had a very strong faith. She loved her family and friends dearly. Shirley led by example, and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years; Art of Heath, a daughter; Jennie (Wayne) Hall of Newark, a son; Jeffrey Michael (Mary) Brownell of DuPont, WA, grandchildren; Kerensa Ann Ecker, Matthew, Emme, and Katie Brownell, Steve (Sara) Hall, and Brady (Elizabeth) Hall, 3 great grandchildren; Hanna, Ethan, and Morgan, very special friends - the Crowley family; John and Nancy, Kerri and Dan, Kalianne and Kendra, and Kim and Mark Stryker, and a brother-in-law; Robert Tucker, and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother; Eddie (JoAnn) Workman, and sisters; Monna Florence and Donna Tucker.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday November 17, 2011 at the Fischer Funeral Home, 403 High St., in Danville. Craig Mulpas will officiate. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service Thursday.
