Mount Vernon - Sylvia Josephine (Bennett) Looney, 67, died Wednesday November 16, 2011 at Country Court.
She was born May 10, 1944 to William Arnett and Fleuridellis (Parker) Bennett. She was a member of the Eagles, and loved her grandchildren, butterflies, sewing, cake decorating, gardening, and canning.
She is survived by her children; Leonard Brown of California, Annette Smith of Mt. Vernon, Sherol and Dave Cullen of Mt. Vernon, Sherry and Jerry Riel of Howard, Shawn Brown of Mt. Vernon, and Thomas and Pam Huggins of Mt. Vernon, grandchildren; Phillip, Robbert, David, Dane, Drew, Renee, Brian, Hazel, Sam, Tim, Doug, Nicole, and Heather, 17 great grandchildren, and her siblings; Bob and Irene Bennett of Warsaw, Mary and Junior Carter of Shreve, Dan and Karen Bennett of Millwood, and Steve and Ann Bennett of Fredericktown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Joseph and Ross Bennett, sister; Jane Bennett, son-in-law; Phillip Smith Sr., brother and sister-in-law; Eugene and Ann Bennett, 2 nieces, and 2 nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday November 21, 2011 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Sheila Kent will officiate. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. until the service Monday.
