GRANVILLE- Thomas P. “Tom” Ridenbaugh, Sr., age 75, passed away peacefully at home October 29, 2026.
Born to Dale and Emogean, Tom grew up in Tiverton, Ohio and graduated from River View High School in 1969. He began his working life as a carpenter building houses, before entering a 31-year career as a millwright at Stone Container, followed by serving 11 years with the International Union of Operating Engineers as a business agent. After “retirement,” he combined passions with work, traveling the country while delivering cars for Coughlin Auto Group, and spending time on the golf course as part of the lawn crew at Longaberger/ Virtues Golf Course. For 20 years, he served as an usher at World Harvest Church, where his ornery smile warmly welcomed countless individuals and families through the doors.
He is survived by wife Faith; “The Kids” Tammy, Tommy, Janna (Jeff), Julie (Mike) and Robbie (Jeni); grandchildren Ashtin (Brian), Taylor (Ryan), Devin, Elyse, Carson, Caden, Madison, Leo, Jacob, Elijah, Joseph, Lily; and great granddaughter Zoey. He is also survived by brother Tony (Nancy), nephews Aaron, Travis and Ryan, and niece Kaitlyn.
Tom loved to hunt, travel and golf, and was proud to have golfed in 38 states. He was an avid fan of the Guardians, Browns and Ohio State football. Tom’s most joyful moments include cheering on grandkids in all their activities, playing Santa and spending time with special friends Graham, Lottie, Nolah and Rune, and eating mallow dogs at family Campfire Christmas.
As much as the family would have liked to honor his wish to be “thrown out back,” instead we’ve decided on a celebration of life at a later date. We are keeping his wish for no calling hours or services.
If inclined, the family asks for memorial donations to be made to Whitetail Heritage of Ohio/ Through Christ Outdoors at whitetailheritageofohio.net or checks mailed to 4780 SR 557 Millersburg, OH 44654, or simply enjoy spending time outdoors while thinking of him.
