FRAZEYSBURG- Virginia Evelyn Leitner, 94, of O'Dell Rd., died Saturday Jan. 18, 2014 at the Genesis Hospice Morrison House in Zanesville.
She was born Nov. 6, 1919 in Ecorse, MI to the late Elton Watt and Evelyn (Hamburg) Watt Bolton. She married Rev. Rex Eugene Leitner, Sr. on Oct. 3, 1936, who preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 1989. She was a 1947 graduate of Anchor Bay Bible College, and a minister's wife for 53 years. She was a member of New Beginnings Ministries in Warsaw for the past three years. She enjoyed singing, crocheting, and reading, but above all else she was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
She is survived by her seven children; Milton Leitner of North Branch, MI, Nancy Lee (Daniel) Brown of Frazeysburg, Sharron A. (Dwight) Brown of Golden, MS, John P. (Janet) Leitner of Bay City, MI, Thomas Leitner of Bad Ax, MI, Rex Leitner, Jr. of Golden, MS, and Mary (Dale) Stratton of Mayville, MI, fourteen grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren, and eleven great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers; Elton "Doc", Robert, & Lyle Watt, a sister, Ruth Watt Shanks, a grandson, Anthony James Hamilton, and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Dean Leitner.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday Jan. 21, 2014 at New Beginnings Ministries in Warsaw with Pastors John Leitner & Bill Dunfee officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to service time at the church. The Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw is handling arrangements. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
