William Merritt

Danville, OH - William James Merritt Jr., 67 years old, died on May 22, 2021

Bill, aka “Billy", was born in Cleveland on April 16, 1954. He was a painter and carpenter who loved hunting (including mushrooms), fishing, gardening, and raising purebred dogs, including his constant companions Jasmine, Harley, and Shadow. He was also a talented artist with beautiful penmanship.

He is survived by a large family and was an Uncle to many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Surviving are his daughter, Dawn (Tim) Colopy, his mother, Evelyn Merritt, siblings, Ken (Christine) Merritt, Linda (Vance) Pate, Wes Merritt, Bob (Tracy) Merritt, Karen (Cris) Ricci, Diane (Cliff) Naujoks, and Pam (Rick) Tygret, grandchildren, Glen (Carly) Geog, Corey (Daria) Geog, Bo Colopy, and Reggie Colopy, great grandchildren, Ryleigh, Glen Michael, Bristol, Kelly, and Kade.

He was preceded in death by his father, William J Merritt Sr.

Private Services will be held by the Family. His final resting place will be Workman Cemetery.
