William Wayne Stumbaugh

Danville - William Wayne Stumbaugh, 81, died in his home surrounded by his family on Sunday Septemeber 11, 2011.

He was born in Greer on August 10 of 1930, the son of Howard Truman Stumbaugh and Dema Agnus (Rabjohn) Stumbaugh. He retired from the Flxible Company in Loudonville. He enjoyed farming, hunting, and square dancing. He was a member of the American Legion in Loudonville, and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister; Betty (Arthur) Mowery, a daughter; Christina Ann Davis, and a grandson; Daniel Gene Richardson.

Surviving is his loving wife, of 59 years next month, Barbara Ann (Mechling) Stumbaugh, a son, William "Bill" Stumbaugh, a daughter, Jean (Jim) Richardson, grandchildren, Tracy Hambleton, Jessie Davis, Jeffery (Tammy) Davis, Deeanna (Ben) Corder, Jessica (Charles) Martin, and Kelly Stumbaugh, great-grandchildren; Christina, Jayme, and James Hambleton, Aiden Corder, and Evelyn Davis, his brother, Richard "Dick" Stumbaugh, many nieces and nephews, and extended family; Phyllis and Daniel Landon, Christy Schaad, Missy Repp, Terry (Deb) Davis, Sarah and Joshua Cooke, Randy Clouse, and Tristian Bowen.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday September 15, 2011 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville with Pastor Lloyd Miller officiating. Burial, with graveside military rites by the Knox Co. Joint Veterans Council, will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery near Danville. Calling hours will be from 5-8 on Wednesday at the funeral home.
