Danville - Winifred J. Howard, 92, passed away Thursday February 5, 2015, at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.
She was born March 14, 1922 in Harlem Township, Delaware County, to the late Fred and Nellie (Budd) Borden. She was a long time member of the Greer Wesleyan Church, and a true Christian lady who never wavered from her faith. She will be remembered for her kindness to others and for her big heart when it came to giving. She touched everyone who met her.
She is survived by her son, John Howard Jr., grandsons; Jeff, Tim, and Andy Howard, and Steve Glenn, granddaughters; Amy (Joe) Zuppardo, and Deana (Mike) England, 8 great grandchildren, sisters; Virginia Grove, and Pat (Waldon) Reed, many nieces and nephews, special friends; Pat Samples, and Maybelle Mowery, and former daughter-in-law, Donna Howard.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Howard Sr., her daughter, Linda Glenn, son-in-law, Neal Glenn, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday February 9, at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Pastors Lloyd Miller and Don Hosier will be officiating. Burial will follow in Fancher Cemetery in Delaware County. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time Monday.
