DANVILLE- Alvin Lee Keener, 81, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2021 at Knox Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
He was born April 2, 1940 in Clay Co., WV to the late Foster and Hattie (Davis) Keener. He retired from the former Rolls Royce plant in Mt. Vernon.
Alvin enjoyed painting cars & trucks, restoring Ford trucks, going to auto shows, and following Ohio St., West Virginia, and Cleveland Browns football.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Doris Keener of Danville; sons, Steve (Kathy) Keener of Howard, Greg (Jean) Keener of Danville, and Michael D. Morton of Mt. Vernon; a daughter, Shelly (Bill) Hans of Danville; a step-son, Roger (Meredith) Lowther Jr. of Fredericktown; a step-daughter, Jeana Marie Looney of Danville; multiple grandchildren & great-grandchildren; brothers, Bob Keener of Howard, Calvin (Linda) Keener of Wooster, Mike (Pat) Keener of Apple Creek, and Wayne (Jody) Keener of Greer; sisters, Margie Lowell of Killbuck, Shirley (Ronnie) Proper of Millersburg, Judy (Dick) Addy of Centerville, and Clara (Dave) Williams of Mansfield; and multiple nieces & nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Greer Wesleyan Church, 20189 SR 514 Glenmont, OH 44628, with burial to follow at Kaylor Ridge Cemetery.
