Utica - Brent D. Kauffman, 42, of Utica died on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from injuries sustained in a head on collision early that morning. His loss was completely unexpected and the family is shocked and deeply saddened.
Brent was born on June 2, 1979, to Hank and Connie Kauffman in Columbus, Ohio. He was a 1997 graduate of Northridge High School and a U.S. Navy Veteran. Returning to the Johnstown and Utica area he worked as an ASE certified mechanic, and was the owner and operator of Kauffman Forklift and Equipment.
Growing up, Brent enjoyed raising and showing Llamas, playing football for Northridge, and vacationing on the family houseboat at Lake Cumberland. As an adult, Brent was known for his redneck personality, his huge smile, and his unending love for his family and friends. He will be remembered for wearing crazy hats, his love of all things American, and always being there for friends in need.
He is survived by his son William (Will) Kauffman, parents Hank and Connie Kauffman of Gambier, brothers Aaron (Tiffany) Marks of Monroe, Michigan and Steve (Heidi) Kauffman of Fostoria, Ohio, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at the Mt. Zion House of Prayer Mennonite Church, 20875 Clutter Road Utica, OH at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 7. Burial will follow in Martinsburg Cemetery on SR 62, with military honors by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8:00 on Wednesday at the church.
The family wants to thank Fischer Funeral Home, Mt. Zion House of Prayer Mennonite Church, and Brent’s friends for their outpouring of love and support for Will and our family. Condolences can be shared at fischerfuneralhome.com.
