Mount Vernon – Byron Kendall Dearman, Sr., 87, passed away at home with his family on Sunday January 21, 2024.
He was born in Newark on March 4, 1936 to Lewis and Dorothy (Lawrence) Dearman. Byron worked auctions, and loved old cars, motorcycles, and spending time with grandkids and great-grandkids. He also loved carpentry and building and renovating houses as well as campers. But most of all, he loved Clint Eastwood and his old western movies, and “loafing”. He was a very kind soul. He would give you the shirt off his back, and was the kind of man who would do anything for his grandkids.
Byron was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Byron K. “Kenny” Dearman, Jr.; and his siblings, Donald, Janice, Perry, Orvie, Macy, and Rebecca.
Surviving are his daughters, Barb (Mike) Boland of Newark, and Candis (Will) Duston of Mount Vernon; 8 grandchildren, Jason (Kate) Boland of Heath, Angie Huggins of Kansas, Scott Dearman Anderson of Oklahoma, Aaron Boland of Thornville, Heather Beougher, Heidi Beougher of Mount Vernon, Wade Duston of Howard, and Ciara Duston of Mount Vernon; 14 great-grandchildren, Tessa Willeby, Alix Teafatiller, Chaz Teafatiller, Kallee Anderson, Kala Anderson, Zoey Parker, Haddon Daniels, Calla Newmeyer, Briar Hershberger, Demi Duston, Jaylynne Boland, Kenzie Boland, Brooks Boland, and Garrard Boland; and 4 great-great grandchildren, Jaxson and Jayden Willeby, and Alyna and Adelynn Manry.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 26, at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Chaplain Don Harris will be officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. Visiting hours will be from 6-8:00 Thursday evening.
