Charles Durbin Obituary

                Mount Vernon – Charles A. Durbin, 87, passed away on Tuesday November 3, 2020 at the Ohio Eastern Star Home.

                He was born to Alfred and Coletta (Shults) Durbin on March 23, 1933. He served in the Navy during the Korean War, and married Mary Schaub in 1957. Mary preceded him in death along with his parents, his brothers, Father Samuel and J. Robert Durbin, his sister, JoAnne Bumpus, infant great grandson, Lee Michael Meyers, daughter-in-law, Judy Durbin, and son-in-law, Mike Gustafson.

                Charles is survived by his sons, Greg Durbin of Maple Valley, WA, and Geoff (Darci McNeilly) Durbin of Worthington, daughters, Chris (Mike) Petee of Mount Vernon, Donna (Craig) Maloney of Mount Vernon, and Laura (Mike) Harmer of Fredericktown, grandchildren, Chad (Aubrey) Durbin, Shala (Kyle) Marlatt, Doug Gustafson, Kate (Lee) Meyers, Zachary Durbin, Nathan (Christy) Maloney, and Sean Durbin, and great grandchildren, Emmy and Myles Durbin, Charlotte and Charlie Meyers, Eliza Durbin, and Kaylee Marlatt, and his special companion, Greta Banbury  

                A private graveside service and burial will take place in St. Luke Cemetery. The Knox County Joint Veterans Council will provide military honors.

                In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a charity of your choice.
