Danville – Douglas Allen McDonald, 64, passed away at his residence on October 16, 2019.
He was born March 5, 1955, to Edward Arthur and Mary Ellen (McFadden) McDonald, and baptized into Christ on July 14, 1968. He was married to Pamela Kay (Bottomley).
Doug was employed by East Knox Schools for 27 ½ years, retiring in 2017, and was an avid Bulldog, Buckeye, and Browns fan. He loved spending time with nature, hunting, mushroom hunting, spending time with family, and cooking outdoors. He was the “Grill Master”.
He is survived by his wife, Pam, his mother, Mary of Danville, his daughter, Roberta (James) Cline of Mount Vernon, his son, Nick (Danielle Maynard) McDonald of Danville, daughter-in-law, Allison McDonald of Mount Vernon, granddaughter, Mackenzie (Paul) Duncan and, great granddaughter, Catherine Keffalas of Mount Vernon, grandsons, Hunter Douglas and Forest Ray McDonald, brothers, Mike (Cheryle) McDonald, and Jeff (Amy) McDonald, both of Howard, sisters, Judy (Ron) Hess of Howard and Cheryl “Cheri” (Alan) Fry of Danville, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ed in 2004, and a brother, William “Bill” (Loney) McDonald in 2015.
Calling hours will be from 2-4 p.m Monday October 21 at the Millwood Church of Christ, 10900 Millersburg Rd. Howard, 43028, with a service immediately following. Evangelist Dave Jones will officiate. A cremation will then take place at Doug’s request. The Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is assisting with arrangements. fischerfuneralhome.com
