DANVILLE- Helen P. Martin, age 83, passed away in her home Tuesday, July 7th, peacefully surrounded by her family.
She was born on May 8, 1937 in New Lexington, Ohio to the late Thomas and Anna Mae (Giles) Winters.
Helen is preceded in death by three of her four children Diana L. (Stevens) Weemes, James W. Stevens ll, and Jeffery W. Stevens.
Helen retired from General Motors UAW Local 969 in 1993. In retirement, Helen found pleasure in quilting and photography, winning many awards at the Knox County Fair for many years. Helen was loved by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Gerald H. Martin, son Dale R. Stevens, Grandchildren Dawn (Weemes) Snyder, Dana Weemes, Misty Stevens, James Stevens lll and Shane Stevens. Great Grandchildren Jeremiah Stewart, Robbie Snyder, Christopher Stewart, Paul Snyder, Chase Stevens, Gabby Stevens, Jordan Stevens, Evelyn Weemes and Alex Pickelsimer. Step-Children Gerald Martin ll, Travis Martin, Terra (Martin) Wilhelm and Becky (Martin) Hedges as well as many step-grandchildren and step- great grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be held graveside for immediate family only on July 9, 2020. Memorial services will be held at a later date. The Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is handling arrangements.
