Mount Vernon – Jack L. Knight, 68, passed away June 21, 2021 surrounded by God’s love and family and Mount Vernon Health and Rehab.
Jack was born in Mount Vernon on February 23, 1953 to Thomas A. and Vera Kathleen (Hennen) Knight. Jack liked to bowl, dance, eat out, watch John Wayne movies, and listen to Elvis music, including doing his special impersonation of “The King”. He also did a lot of traveling and vacationing with his sister, including cruises. He enjoyed being around people and being the center of attention. Jack was loved by his many friends and family and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his brothers, Thomas A. Knight (Nancy Diehl) of Fredericktown, John A. (Barb) Knight of Howard, his sister, Betty L. (Don) Wilson of Indialantic, FL, his group home brothers, Merle, Jeff, and Jim, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Mary Lou (Danny) Hofstetter.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday June 25 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Pastor David Havens will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. Calling hours will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
