John W. Alberts, Jr.

                WEST LAFAYETTE- John William Alberts, Jr., 82, died Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Lafayette Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

                He was born Nov. 4, 1940 in Mulberry, KS to the late John William and Alene (McCullough) Alberts. He was a 1958 graduate of West Lafayette High School, and retired from the former AK Steel plant in Coshocton after 43 years of service.

                John enjoyed hunting, fishing trips to Canada, and traveling.

                He is survived by his wife, Marilyn E. (Hoffman) Alberts of West Lafayette, whom he married May 14, 1961; a daughter, Kelly (Gordon) Kendall of Coshocton; former daughter-in-law, Kelli Alberts of New Philadelphia; his grandchildren, Cameron, Alexandra "Allie", and Ashlyn Alberts, all of New Philadelphia; a sister-in-law, Lynn Hoffman of St. Charles, IL; nieces, Lisa (Bruce) Neumann, Karen (Bill) Dwyer; a nephew, Doug Hoffman; and cousins, Lillian Doddridge and Carol Hubbard.

                In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Travis W. Alberts; a brother, Lewis Alberts; a sister Ada Leleniewski; and brothers-in-law, Kenneth & Wayne Hoffman.

                Per John’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. Burial will follow at a later date in Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia. The Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw is handling arrangements. www.fischerfuneralhome.com

                His family would like to thank the staff of Community Hospice for the care provided to John in his last days.
