Karen L. Huffman

                Danville – Karen Lynne Huffman, age 60, passed away at Select Specialty Hospital in Newark on November 1, 2023.

                Karen was born in Mount Vernon on August 8, 1963. She was the daughter of the late John R. and Mary Maxine (Cunningham) Huffman. She was a graduate of Danville High School and attended Columbus State. She was a 30 year member of the Columbus Jaycees, where she was Senator #77668, and past President serving from 1995-96. She was also a member of the Ohio Eastern Star Glenwood Chapter. Karen received her first of three kidney transplants from her father in 1971. Even though she was on dialysis for 30 years, she was able to work at John Alden Insurance, in sales at Victoria’s Secret, as well as other odd jobs to help her friends, go on several fun trips with family and friends, and live life to the fullest.

                Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Harold and Evelyn Huffman, her maternal grandparents, John and Lena Cunningham, and her pups, Amy and Molly.

                Karen is survived by her sisters, Malinda (John) Cook of Killbuck, and Laura Frink (Travis Jones) of Danville; brother, John (Charlene) Huffman of Tennessee; her special pup, Jade; all of her nephews and nieces who were very important to her, Patrick Cook, Jenna (Jo) Fox, Chaz (Stacey) Miller, Michael (Lauren) Jones, and Jonathan Jones, Allyson Rosemore, Nick (girlfriend Alison) Huffman, and Mason Huffman; three great nephews, several Aunts and Uncles, and her rock and her friend, Kelly Kassor and Aunt Sharon Reiheld.

                A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 18, at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Dave Dahlstein will officiate. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Friday the 17th, from 4-6:00 p.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville.
