Kelly Neal

Kelly Wayne Neal, 83, of Brinkhaven, Ohio passed away in his home on Sunday, April 9th .   

He was born April 11, 1939 in Versailles, Kentucky to Victor West Neal and Mary Katherine Kelly. 

He graduated from Dalton High School in Dalton, Ohio and met the love of his life Jo Anne Gorsuch while working for Sidle Trucking on his milk route.  They soon married on April 3rd, 1958 and were married 59 years. She preceded him in death in 2017.   

While living in Apple Creek he was the Farm Foreman for Apple Creek State Hospital.  Later he purchased a dairy farm in Glenmont, Ohio and was a member of the Glenmont Church of Christ.  After giving up farming in Glenmont, he moved to Brinkhaven and became an active member of the Brinkhaven Church of Christ. He served a short term as the Deputy Dog Warden in Holmes County and later as Jailer for the Holmes County Sheriff's Department.  He then established Kelly's Transit where he provided transportation for the Amish community.    

Surviving are his two children, a son, Richard W. (Nancy) Neal of Shreve, Ohio and daughter, Patricia (Barry) Sutherland of Brinkhaven, Ohio. Grandchildren Richard D. (Gwen) Neal, Michael Neal and Rachael Neal. Great Grandchildren Andrew and Evelyn Neal. Brother David (Tamie) Neal.  His love for his family was also shared by his many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his siblings Donald, James, Mary (Loomis), Gwen (Fisher), Kenneth and Paul. 

Family and Friends will be received Friday, April 14 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Fischer Funeral Home, 403 High Street Danville, Ohio 43014  Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 15 at 11:00 a.m. with David Neal officiating.  A live stream of the service will be available on this page at service time. Burial will follow at the Brinkhaven Cemetery.
