Obituary

 

                DANVILLE- Michael Lee Waldeck, 68, died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023 at Knox Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

                He was born Feb. 12, 1955 in Newark to the late Roy “Dess” and Janet Carol (Fairley) Waldeck. He worked at NAPA in Danville for several years, and has served on Danville Village Council for the last 6½ years.

                Michael loved bowling, golf, and camping. He always looked forward to family gatherings around holidays, especially Halloween. He also loved going to the Knox Co. Fair, attending every year for decades. 

                He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Elizabeth (Leedy) Waldeck of Danville, whom he married July 20, 1974; his daughter, Charity Waldeck of Danville; siblings, Rickie Allan (Deb) Waldeck of Mt. Victory, Annette Rucker of Arizona, Lannette North of Arizona, James Leroy Shannon of Arizona; several nieces & nephews; special "adopted" daughters, Carla Jackson of Ashland, and Michelle Sapp of Columbus; and numerous family friends.

                In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Janette Waldeck.

                A Celebration of Life will take place throughout the day on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2023 at the Riverfront Campground at Nellie. Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is handling arrangements. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
