Danville – Richard L. Craven, 86, passed away after an extended illness on June 24, 2021.
He was born to Edwin and Marie (Suter) Craven on May 18, 1935. Richard was an over-the-road truck driver for most of his adult life, and he was an avid carpenter and weaver. He used his hobby to operate a small business restoring antique carriages and buggies. He also served as a Brinkhaven Village Council member for many years.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his grandson, Cody Johnson, and his ex-wife, Norma Craven.
He is survived by his sisters, Joann Brown and Mildred (Stewart) Sidney, children, Rick (Deb) Craven, and Lisa (Grant) Lyons, granddaughters, Lacey Norris, and Ericka Craven, and four great grandchildren.
A private service will be held at a later date. The Fischer Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cody Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund through the Community Foundation of Mount Vernon/Knox County, 1 South Main St. Mount Vernon, OH 43050.
