Russell W. Brintnall

                 FRESNO- On May 20, 2020 Russ Brintnall passed on due to cancer. He was in his home surrounded by his wife and girls. 
               

                 Russ was born in Lakewood, Ohio on October 1, 1948 to Roger and Martha Brintnall of Medina Ohio. He was a 1966 graduate of Buckeye High School. Immediately after graduation, he enlisted into the Navy as a Corpsman. He served with the 2nd Battalion 26th Marines in Vietnam from ’66-’69. In the summer of ’69 he met the love of his life, Susan Dunsha at Akron University. They married in 1974. He then attended one of the pioneer Physician Assistant Programs in the nation thru Tri-C.
              

                The blizzard of 1978 took them on their first adventure to South Texas, where he accepted a position at Centro De Salud in Crystal City as a member of the National Health Corps. During the next 12 years, spent in Crystal City, their three daughters were born at home. The Lord then took him to serve the community of Mason, Texas. He helped them establish the first rural health clinic. It was here that they raised their three daughters and formed many life long friendships. In 2000, he and Susan moved to the Hill Country in Boerne, Texas. Over the next 18 years, he worked for the University of Texas Health Science Center, Methodist ER and then returned and retired from Centro De Salud in Crystal City. 
              

                Upon retirement, Russ and Sue returned to Ohio and built a cabin in the town of New Bedford in Amish Country. He often referred to this as his “Heaven on Earth”. 
              

                He is survived by his wife Susan, eldest daughter Darcy Seibert and husband Justin of Boerne, Texas; daughter Megan Morris and husband Mike of Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughter Kate Reeves and husband Nick of Little Rock, Arkansas; six grandchildren and his siblings, Bruce Brintnall and Anna Lee Frank.
