COSHOCTON- Steven Lee Hampton, 70, passed away on June 20, 2022. He was born on December 7, 1951, in Coshocton to Herbert Lee Hampton and June (VanDusen) Miller.
Steve was a 1970 graduate of Evergreen High School in Metamora. He played semi-professional football briefly in the Toledo area after graduating.
Steve was an active member of the Grand Lodge of F.& A.M. of Ohio and multiple organizations. He served as Master at the West Lafayette Masonic Lodge for 3 years and education officer for 3 years. Steve was President/founding member of the Widows Sons Masonic R.A. Brothers of the Trail. Steve was a collector of unique items. He enjoyed working on vehicles, riding his Gold Wing and shooting the breeze with his friends. Steve will be missed by family and friends.
Steve is survived by a daughter, Cory Hampton of Canyon Lake, Texas; parents Laura June (VanDusen) Miller of West Lafayette and Herbert Lee Hampton of Uhrichsville; two sisters Carol Hampton of Fresno and Cheryl (Warren) Peiter of West Lafayette; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Steve is preceded in death by stepfather Paul Miller; stepsister Sandra Giesen; and stepbrothers Samuel and Gary Miller.
Calling hours will be Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 6-7 p.m. at Bible Fellowship, 102 S Oak St. in West Lafayette, followed by a short funeral service with Pastor Jim Evans officiating. Following the funeral service, the West Lafayette Masonic Lodge will present their service at the Lodge, located at 121 S. Kirk Street, West Lafayette.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to West Lafayette Masonic Lodge or Aladdin Shriners.
