T. Ruth Armstrong Obituary

Mount Vernon – Thelma Ruth Armstrong, 83, passed away on Friday February 22, 2019 at the Country Club Retirement Campus.

She was born on December 4, 1935 to Edwin and Alice (Proper) Edmister. She married Kenneth Armstrong on June 26, 1953.

She is survived by her children, Pam (Brent) Grassbaugh of Howard, Tammy (Andy) Carne of Orlando, FL, and Jeff (Linda) Armstrong of Howard, grandchildren; Eric (Kacey) Grassbaugh of Marengo, Tanya Newell of Fredericktown, Tyler Durbin of Columbus, and Sam Armstrong of Canton, great grandchildren, Lee Newell and Elyse Newell, and Emerson Grassbaugh and Cecilia Grassbaugh, sisters, Ellen Hogue and Pat Mossholder, and brothers, Bob Conkle, Ron Conkle, Rick Conkle, Larry Edmister, and Gordon Edmister.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kenneth, her daughter, Kamara Kay Armstrong, and her brother, Henry Edmister.

Per Ruth’s request, a private service is being held. The family suggests memorial donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at stjude.org/donate, and at 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. The Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is handling arrangements. fischerfuneralhome.com
