Walter L. Hedglin

                HOWARD- Walter L. Hedglin, 79, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at his home.

                He was born Feb. 4, 1943 in Venango, PA to the late Walter E. and Mary (Coon) Hedglin. He retired after 31 ½ years of service at General Motors in Lordstown.

                Walter was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. He was a member of the Millwood Church of Christ.

                In addition to his parents, Walter E. Hedglin and Mary Guntrum, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Sandy Hedglin, and a brother-in-law, Don Mowery.

                He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patricia J. (Anderson) Hedglin of Howard, whom he married Aug. 28, 1987; his children, Bradley (Tamara) Hedglin of Clemmons, NC, Jodie Melo of Clemmons, NC, Michael Hoffman of Anchorage, AK, Melanie (Joe) Filipcich of Niles, and Matt Hoffman of Toledo; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Fred Hedglin of Masury, and Ray Hedglin of Bradenton, FL; and a sister, Patricia Mowery of Bradenton, FL.

Walt’s moto was, “I want to live my life so the preacher doesn’t have to lie at my funeral.”

                Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022 at the Millwood Church of Christ, 10900 Millersburg Rd. Howard, OH 43028, with Dave Jones officiating. Private burial will follow in Workman Cemetery. Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church.
