Howard – Wilma Ruth (Conner) Richert passed away peacefully with her loving family surrounding her on April 1, 2022 at Select Specialty Hospital in Newark.
Wilma was born August 29, 1942 to Leland and Pauline Conner (Bowman). She married Carroll Lynn Richert on September 11, 1960 and was faithfully committed to him until his passing in 2009. She worked as a turkey processor on the Richert family farm for ten years. She and Carroll built CL Richert Trucking, where she dedicated herself for 40 years. Together they raised two sons who will miss her dearly.
Wilma was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Jelloway. She was often seen on her golf cart with her four-legged companion, Buddy, riding shot gun alongside her. She enjoyed bowling and playing cards, loved a good ribeye steak prepared perfectly by her sons, and enjoyed homemade ice cream. She was very much loved and respected by family, friends, and employees. She will always be remembered as a strong, inspiring woman who lost many loved ones through the years and stayed strong to the very end.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carroll Richert, brothers Larry, Randy, and Gary Conner, sisters Terry Stone and Sandra Hood, and step-father James McAvene.
She is survived by her sister Lee Ann (Mike) Kauffman of Glenmont, sons Donnie Richert (Sheila) and Ronnie Richert (Jamie) both of Howard, granddaughter Alexis Richert, grandson Gavin Richert, two great-grandchildren Asher and Mylee, and many nieces and nephews.
No calling hours or funeral service will be held at Wilma’s wishes. The Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is handling arrangements.
